(Athens Twp., Mich.) — The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP) led by Tribal Council members Homer A. Mandoka, Jamie Stuck, RoAnn Beebe-Mohr and Dorie Rios announced today that a tentative buy-out agreement of the FireKeepers Casino management contract has been reached.

Since its Aug. 2009 opening, the $300 million FireKeepers Casino has successfully operated under a management agreement with Full House Resorts. The early buy-out of $97.5 million will be complete on or before May 1, 2012 eliminating the remainder of the agreement scheduled to continue until Aug. of 2016. The transaction is contingent on final approval of the Tribe’s financial package and awaits regulatory consent.

The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP), owners of FireKeepers Casino in Battle Creek, Mich., announced today that its third payment to the state of Michigan is $12.6 million and its third payment to the FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board (FLRSB) is nearly $5 million.
